Delivering real business value while driving down IT storage cost is a major challenge. The ability to dynamically move data to the optimal tier based on actual use is the only way to assure the storage is always in tune with application needs. In this session we will examine how Oracle's VSM provides an integrated approach to categorizing and storing data across 3 storage tiers.  This will include the recently announced VLE technology which provides industry leading capacities along with tight integration with tape. We will explore how data is migrated and managed from creation to archive utilizing simple rule based management.  With this solution customers can manage rapid data growth while cutting overall storage costs significantly.
