Come to this session for a technical overview of the IBM System z, zEnterprise hardware announcements made on July 12, 2011. The July 12 announcements feature the new IBM zEnterprise 114 (z114) entry level System z enterprise server, which offers extreme granularity and scalability, extensive growth options, and full participation in a workload-optimized, multi-architecture zEnterprise Ensemble. This includes z114 support for zEnterprise BladeCenter Extension (zBX) enhancements including the latest zBX features and functions also announced on July 12, support for select IBM BladeCenter HX5 7873 blade servers running Linux on System x . In addition you will hear about the new PCI Express (PCIe) I/O infrastructure and new Parallel Sysplex coupling features announced for both the z196 and the z114. This session is new for SHARE in Orlando.
