The MVS Program Opening is the first session of the week and runs unopposed within our Program.
The Program Managers will introduce the Program Officers and Project Managers and provide an overview of the week's activities, including sessions of particular interest sponsored by our Program and others across SHARE.
We will then hear from John Shebey (z/OS Service) about critical APARs and other items of interest to z/OS administrators, system programmers, and developers alike.
Lastly, Nate Dotson and Kavita Sehgal will present the following:
Every business is clamoring to move as much as they can to the cloud. How do you help them to see that IBM Z is an ideal platform for modern cloud computing and services, providing agility and maximum security for transactional and data serving workloads? You need to explain that IBM Z offers a range of cloud implementation use cases from on-premises to private and public cloud. As businesses realize that they need to provide cloud-centric enterprise class services (both business and utility) the interest in leveraging IBM Z in that strategy will grow. This session will discuss the journey to cloud on IBM Z and the key use cases that customers are leveraging to address their business priorities. We’ll show how this platform offers innovative and modern cloud capabilities for the enterprise that drives immediate and growing business value.-Edward Jaffe-Phoenix Software International; John C.
