Tape processing today is alive and well – and very important.
Today; many installations rely on a virtual tape infrastructure to quickly and securely backup vital business data onto cheaper; secure media. In many cases; tapes are duplexed or replicated to distant locations for disaster recovery requirements. But; how well is that process performing? How long does it take to create tapes? Is the disaster recovery SLA being fulfilled?
An insight into tape processing will be shown; based on z/OS SMF data together with IBM BVIR (TS7700) and Oracle SMF data. (PCP4) (STO7) (ZOSP1) (ZVM2) Join the discussion with IntelliMagic on tape performance.-Brent Phillips-Intellimagic; Dave Heggen-IntelliMagic
