What happens when you connect z/OS and Linux together using a highly optimized network interconnect? IBM Z Systems provides Shared Memory Communications (SMC) across CPCs (over RoCE) and within a CPC (DMA over ISM). SMC has been available for z/OS and is now available for Linux. This session describes how you can optimize your combined z/OS and Linux solutions when you enable SMC between the two platforms. Presenters will join us from the IBM SAP on Z Performance team to share recent SAP Banking workload measurements using SMC-D between z/OS and Linux, and showcase the significant results achieved by employing this new technology.-Jerry Stevens-IBM Corporation; Fimy Hu-IBM; Veng Ly-IBM; Stefan Raspl-IBM Germany
