In the March 1991 issue of Infoworld Stewart Alsop wrote;"I predict that the last mainframe will be unplugged on March 15; 1996". Now 24 years later people are predicting that the cloud will replace the mainframe. These naysayers are just as wrong. Cloud does not mean the end of the mainframe but the dawn of a new era of mainframe superiority.
This session will talk about how the IT world is changing and how the mainframe can reclaim a role of prominence in world seemingly dominated by cloud.-Edward Jaffe-Phoenix Software International; Frank DeGilio-IBM Corporation
