DFSMS has provided support for several new items in synergy with its DS8000 program to improve communications between the storage and the host and to improve first failure data capture situations.  New functions include items such as protection from accidentally accessing old data after a hyperswap, determining all systems where a device may have path groups established, the ability to pause a Global Mirror session on a consistency group boundary so practice copies can be taken, and more.
