IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) is a methodology to discover patterns of performance, usage and availability in complex, and often high volume, IT systems. ITOA may apply big data analysis processes to produce technical and business insights.
IT Service Management for z/OS (ITSMz) leverages established best practices for monitoring, management, and automation. The goal is determine the most critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) helps to solve the ‘KPI conundrum’ by providing the tools and methodologies to identify the most important KPIs.
This presentation will discuss in detail KPIs, various categories of KPIs, and demonstrate how IT Operations Analytics may be used to solve the ‘KPI conundrum’ by identifying the most relevant KPIs. Examples will be shown using various technical options, including IBM Operational Analytics for z Systems (IOAz), IBM OMEGAMON monitoring, Tivoli Enterprise Portal, IBM Service Management Unite, Tivoli Data Warehouse, IBM Z APM Connect, and IBM Common Data Provider for z Systems (CDPz).-Ed Woods-IBM Corporation
