Using REXX with DFSMSrmm

DFSMSrmm, the IBM tape management system, has an extensive REXX interface that can be used to create standardized or custom reports about tape volumes, data sets, and the DFSMSrmm environment itself. In addition to the supplied EXECs for inventory reports, reports on scratch volumes, and so on, users can access a great many DFSMSrmm-related REXX variables and use the DFSMSrmm TSO subcommands to obtain tape information and create specialized or ad-hoc reports. The speaker will discuss how DFSMSrmm interfaces with REXX, how the REXX variables are named and used, and will demonstrate some examples of REXX reporting with DFSMSrmm.-Steve Pryor-DTS Software, Inc.
