SaltStack is a relatively new open source systems and configuration management framework written in Python. By putting a strong focus on being fast, scalable, and easy to extend, it addresses many of the pain points users have with other configuration management tools. SUSE has chosen SaltStack as the framework of choice for SUSE Manager 3, and the SUSE engineering team is now an active contributor to the SaltStack project. This talk introduces the basic concepts and benefits of SaltStack and provides a walk-through of SaltStack's functionality, using the management of SUSE Linux Enterprise as the example. The talk will conclude with a demo of SaltStack.-Alejandro Bonilla-SUSE; Anthony Tortola-SUSE
