David Stephens is a mainframe consultant who, more often than not, finds himself on projects reducing CPU usage. Working with partners CPT Global, David has analyzed many different sites, submitting ideas to reduce CPU consumption. But not all of them have worked.
In this session, David will talk about his tactics for CPU reduction - how he approaches a new site, and how he looks for CPU reduction ideas. But this is not a theoretical session. David will discuss real-world experiences, and review six CPU reduction ideas he has proposed in the past: three that worked, and three that didn't.
This is a session that not only covers system-level tactics to reduce CPU, but also strategies to target CPU tuning for the most benefit.-David Stephens-Longpela Expertise
