In this session, the speaker will discuss the integral relationship between System z hardware, z/OS software, and storage configuration options, which enable z/OS to provide unrivaled stability and integrity as well as the foundation for state-of-the-art security and data integrity. First issued in 1973, IBM's MVS System Integrity Statement, and subsequent statements for OS/390 and z/OS, has stood for over three decades as a symbol of IBM's confidence in and commitment to the z/OS operating system. IBM reaffirmed its commitment to z/OS System Integrity as part of the announcement for z/OS 1.9. When used correctly, the architecture allows the system to protect data in both local memory and secondary storage media from unauthorized or accidental damage. While the system provides the tools, you play a critical role in making it so. The speakers will highlight the pitfalls in not following best practices to management approaches.-Scott A.
