Transparent Cloud Tiering (TCT) on the DS8000 in conjunction with DFSMShsm demonstrates the compelling synergy between IBM System Storage and Z System. The solution continues to provide business efficiencies, flexibility and a reduction in capital expenses by reducing CPU utilization when archiving large data sets. This efficiency is realized by a direct data transfer from the DS8000 to an object storage platform. In this session the speaker will explore an exciting new capability which extends this synergistic solution to the IBM TS7700 Virtualization Engine which can now be the object storage target for TCT.-Lourie Goodall-IBM; Eddie Lin-IBM
