The term IT Service Management (ITSM) refers to the policies and processes to plan, deliver, operate and control IT services. Performance monitoring, automation and scheduling are examples of technologies typically used in the ITSM discipline.
Analytics refers to the discovery, analysis, and display of meaningful and useful patterns in data. There are many aspects to Analytics, but there is a natural synergy of Analytics and IT Service Management.
This presentation will provide a brief introduction to Analytics concepts. This will be followed by a discussion of how Analytics technologies are a natural complement to ITSM tools, such as performance monitors and automation. This presentation will show how to build a monitoring and management strategy that includes Analytics concepts. Examples using IBM Operational Analytics Log Analysis (IOAz), IBM OMEGAMON, the Tivoli Enterprise Portal, Service Management Unite, the Tivoli Data Warehouse, and other technologies will be shown.
Attend this session to learn how to improve performance and availability by including Analytics in your ITSM methodology.-Ed Woods-IBM Corporation
