With IBM focussing on the development of graphical interfaces to z/OS such as z/OSMF and Eclipse IDEs there’s been little in the way of customer requested enhancements to ISPF in the recent z/OS releases. We understand the need to provide more modern interfaces to z/OS in order to attract the younger demographic. A lot of us, however, are comfortable working with ISPF and many have ideas for enhancements but there’s little prospect of them being implemented. Well File Manager for z/OS can step in to fill the breach. File Manager offers functions over and above what are provided by ISPF and is aimed at those working in the DevOps sphere such as application developers, testers, and system administrators. File Manager runs in ISPF, looks and feels like ISPF and enhancements are regularly being implemented. In this session the presenter will provide live demonstrations of File Manager enhancements and features aimed to improve your productivity including the Enhance Find function, panel field reference save/retrieve, load module view and compare, accessing data on remote systems and editing large data sets.-Peter Van Dyke-HCL Corporation; Tyrone Dalais-File Manager Product Architect
