z/OS is a dynamic platform with potentially many mission critical workloads to monitor and manage simultaneously. Automated Performance Management is a methodology to handle the complexities of z/OS, and address potential issues reliably and at machine speed. IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM), OMEGAMON monitoring on z/OS, IBM System Automation (SA), and IBM Operational Analytics provide powerful, integrated, easy to use automation, command and control capabilities.
This presentation will look at several automated performance management scenarios. The presentation will focus on the synergy of the various IBM technologies to manage z/OS in a more automated and effective manner. The presentation will show examples of new technologies, such as IBM Systems Management Unite, and IBM Operational Analytics.-Ed Woods-IBM Corporation
