Most TDM strategies end when the data has been supplied to the environment. But how do you insure that you created the smartest subset, and how do you link the data in your environment directly to tests you are executing.
We helped our client Discover Financial answer those questions.The business wanted to know exactly what needed to be tested. The test data management team wanted to know how to translate those needs into a reasonable subset of data for a given environment. The testing teams wanted their automated tests suites to have a regular flow of fresh data.
Using some core concepts of data management, we automated the chain of events from intelligent subsetting up through the auto-generation of automated tests which supply their own input data and expected results.-Mark Chassy-Orson
