Don't commit the "BIG MISTAKE" of attempting to connect the customer network to the zBX with a Layer 2 Switching platform! Layer 2 connections between an external switch and the zBX are NOT supported. If you need to know how to connect the external customer network successfully to the Ensemble through the zBX, attend this session where you will learn:
-- the difference between "layer 2" and "layer 3" implementations in hardware and software
-- how to define the connection from the external network to the zBX and its Top-of-Rack switches
-- how to exchange messages and data among Virtual Servers in the Ensemble -- either on the z196, z114 or the zBX or both
-- how and when to deploy a "router" in the Ensemble, when to rely on static routing alone, and when you might introduce dynamic routing.
You will also see coding examples for working connectivity configurations to the zBX.
