The system-managed tape support used to manage IBM's automated, virtual, and manual tape libraries is similar to a puzzle; there are numerous intertwined parts and pieces.  We'll explore the flow of a mount request through the system and the different components involved.  We'll also provide guidance on load balancing options and how with SMSHONOR you can direct a mount request to a specific device for capturing diagnostic data.-Derek Erdmann-IBM
