In this session; the speaker will describe how IBM Multi-site Workload Lifeline plays a key role in solving two major problems in the Enterprise. The first is enabling intelligent load balancing of TCP/IP workloads across two sites at unlimited distances for near continuous availability. The second is reducing downtime for planned outages by rerouting workloads from one site to another without disruption to users.
As part of this session; the types of workloads that can take advantage of this Lifeline support will also be covered. These include traditional TCP-based workloads; legacy SNA workloads; workloads utilizing Linux on z Systems; and recently announced support for workloads using MQ clusters as well as DRDA workloads.
