Virtualization technologies help customers deploy workloads on fewer systems by sharing resources while meeting service level agreements. To ensure cost effectiveness, virtualized servers have to be loaded up to near 100% utilization levels without important workloads being affected. Hypervisor Performance Manager facilitates policy driven management of processor resources under KVM. This ensures effectively utilizing processor resources within a KVM instance before considering dynamic guest relocation or elastic scaling. Hypervisor Performance Manager provides APIs for consumption by higher level management products. These higher level management products could provide recommendations for dynamic guest relocation. Dynamic guest relocation will also be effective before considering scaling up of guests.-Deepti Naphade-IBM
