Performance Monitoring and Availability management best practices are essential to any well conceived IT Service Management (ITSM) strategy. Traditional ITSM is built around well documented processes, focuses on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and leverages established best practices for monitoring, management, and automation. Â
Established ITSM methodology relies heavily upon the knowledge and expertise of the various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Analytics may be used to expand the scope and focus the perspective of ITSM, by focusing on the most critical KPIs. Analytics encompasses the discovery, analysis, and display of meaningful and useful patterns in data. There are many aspects to Analytics, but there is a natural synergy of Analytics and IT Service Management. Â
This presentation will provide a brief introduction to Analytics concepts. This will be followed by a discussion of the various sources of Analytics information as they may be applied to ITSM. Next will be a discussion of the various technical options. Learn about various solution options, including IBM Operational Analytics Log Analysis (IOAz), IBM Operational Insights for z, IBM OMEGAMON monitoring, Tivoli Enterprise Portal, Service Management Unite, Tivoli Data Warehouse, IBM Common Data Provider. Examples of using IBM Watson analysis applied to ITSM scenarios will be shown.
Attend this session to learn how to improve performance and availability by including Analytics in your ITSM methodology.-Ed Woods-IBM Corporation
