As z/OS continues to grow and evolve, so do systems management and operational analytics solutions for the platform. This set of hands-on lab sessions demonstrates many of the newest capabilities of the IBM OMEGAMON (z/OS, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Storage, Networks, JVM) performance monitoring suite and IBM Operations Analytics for z Systems.Â
This lab session provides 1) step-by-step exercises on how to monitor performance for z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ, Storage, Networks and Java Virtual Memory (New product), using the latest version of IBM OMEGAMON performance management suite and 2) step-by-step exercises on how to proactively manage your enterprise system log messages and transform data into operational insights using the latest version of IBM Operations Analytics for z Systems. We have multiple labs running on live z Systems with transaction workloads. • You may select any monitoring topic(s) to explore bottleneck analysis and identify root causes whether using the newly enhanced 3270 user interface or web browser based Tivoli Enterprise Portal.Â
• You can explore new log streaming and analytics technologies to examine contents of z Systems and application log data, perform real-time search, identify trends and anomalies, and visualize results on dashboards. Discover how fast to locate security and compliance issues on a live z system environment.
