In this hands-on lab, you will logon to a z/OS image and use IPCS
to review system dumps, applying the techniques needed to
gather basic diagnostic information used in determining the
source of various problems, including ABENDs, loops and hangs.
Experienced z/OS Level 2 support representatives will be available
to help with questions and share useful techniques and IPCS tips.
The experience gained in this lab will allow you to better search for
similar problem descriptions in SR and to more effectively communicate
with the IBM Support Center. While this lab does not assume any prior
experience with IPCS, it is recommended that you already have some
basic experience with IPCS. Also, you may be interested in attending
z/OS Debugging: Diagnosing Loops and Hangs (session 17907),
which will provide more insight into the debug of loops and hangs.
We welcome all zNG members to attend. This is a new hands-on lab
for Orlando.-John C. Shebey-IBM Corporation; Patty Little-IBM Corporation
