Defined Capacity is an LPAR parameter that is used by the z/OS Capacity Limits and can be used to the limit the simultaneous four-hour rolling average of a group of LPARs. The distribution of CPU resources within the group are based on each LPAR’s IPW within the group. This presentation will explore how these two parameters interact and how best to use them to help sites control their monthly IBM Workload License Charges invoice.-Alan Sherkow-I/S Management Strategies, Ltd.
