Mobile users and 24x7 requirements, as well as greater scale, more complexity, fewer expert analysts, combined with 40 year old processes to understand what the data means, all create more challenges than ever in z/OS application infrastructure performance and capacity planning.
The good news is that RMF and SMF are the most robust machine-generated operations data in the datacenter. And the richer the data, the smarter the analytics can be. But only if the analysis includes the usage of infrastructure-specific expert knowledge.
This session explores new approaches to analyzing the operational data, the benefits of statistical analysis, and in particular how predictability can be dramatically affected with an additional type of artificial intelligence automatically applied to the data.
This advanced process will be explained and discussed from a vendor-neutral perspective. Putting this artificial intelligence to work will impact the productivity of the entire performance and capacity team. It can also impact the application development and operations relationship with automated infrastructure testing for each release.-Brent Phillips-Intellimagic
