The MVS Program Opening is the first session of the week and runs unopposed within our Program.
The Program Managers will introduce the Program Officers and Project Managers and provide an overview of the week's activities, including sessions of particular interest sponsored by our Program and others across SHARE.
We will then hear from John Shebey (z/OS Service) about critical APARs and other items of interest to z/OS administrators, system programmers, and developers alike.
And finally, Jeff Magdall (Program Director for IBM Z Strategy at IBM) will present IBM's strategic vision for the IBM Z platform in our world's increasingly technologically complex future:
What do society, business, government and institutions look like 10 years into the future? How will technologies like AI, Quantum Computing, Blockchain and Cloud redefine how people, businesses and institutions interact with each other and what challenges and opportunities lie ahead? What will be the role of IBM Z in this future and how will IBM prepare me to be ready and prosper?
In this presentation and discussion the speaker will cover IBM Z's vision for the future, and the strategic direction that IBM Z Offering Management is taking to ensure that the mainframe plays a pivotal role in seizing opportunities, addressing customer challenges, and mitigating risks in a dramatically changed world and I/T landscape. Attend, learn, and be ready for the future!-Edward Jaffe-Phoenix Software International; John C. Shebey-IBM Corporation; Jeff Magdall-IBM Corporation
