The MVSS Project focuses on education, professional networking, & industry influence in the area of zSystems Storage Management, and the facilities and products necessary to support these functions. Join us in our project opening to learn more about our project and the activities we have planned for Providence.
Our guest speakers are from the IBM DFSMS and Enterprise Cryptography development teams and will discuss the new view of data encryption. Extensive use of encryption is one of the most impactful ways to help reduce the risks and financial losses of a data breach and help meet complex compliance mandates. But implementing encryption can be a complex process as organizations struggle with determining which data should be encrypted, where encryption should occur and who is responsible for it. IBM Z pervasive encryption provides a transparent and consumable approach to enable extensive encryption of data in flight and at rest to simplify and reduce the costs associated with protecting data and achieving compliance mandates. With this new view of data encryption, learn what role the storage administrator plays and how they might interact with others who are involved in protecting enterprise data (ie database admins, security admins, data owners).-Russell Witt-CA Technologies; Cecilia C.
