This presentation shows the results of a performance evaluation project of virtualized environments operated with constrained resources. Using z/VM 6.3 with a set of virtual Linux systems running different types of workload in parallel, this project shows the differences of the new memory and CPU management introduced with z/VM 6.3 compared to the previous implementation.
Specifically the efficiency of the z/VM paging subsystem using EDEV-SCSI based paging devices compared to ECKD based paging devices will be shown.-Stefan Reimbold-IBM Corporation
