In z/OS installations large and small, standards enforcement is key. Without effectively enforced standards across the enterprise for dataset names, attributes, types, size, and more, chaos is certain. Avoiding chaos means that storage administrators must be able to do more than send emails admonishing offenders. In this session, we'll discuss the use of DTS Software's Allocation Control Center to provide automated enforcement of the way datasets are created, opened, used, and deleted. We'll talk about:
- What DFSMS Can and Can't Do
- Keeping Track of Who's Doing What Where
- Standards for DELETEing and DEFINing Datasets
- Controlling GDG Base DEFINEs
- Preventing Use of Incorrect RLS Attributes-Steve Pryor-DTS Software, LLC
