This session will be focused on how SAS reduced elapsed time by as much as 22% by using the High Performance FICON for IBM System z (zHPF) facility to perform I/O for SAS files on IBM mainframe systems. This performance increase will be in the third maintenance release of SAS 9.4. This session will discuss the performance improvements, internal testing to quantify improvements, and the customer actions needed to enable zHPF on their system. There is also a paper written collaboratively by Lewis King and Fred Forst of SAS Institute.-Holden E. O'Neal-SAS Institute
