Sysplex related failures occurs thankfully not so often. If you had one, you
know what messages are coming, what to do , which actions needs to be taken. You
also learn how to recovery fast or avoid them. If you never experienced any , it
will be sometimes challenging to get ready for flow of actions that needs to be
done, which parameters and settings are effecting your recovery senarious. What
happens if a CF fails, sysplex workload spike happens such that CF capacity or
resources are overwhelmed. If you have structure failure, what happens if you
are using structure duplexing, asynchronous duplexing and if you are not using
them any of them at all. IBM zPET STSM Keiron Hinds and WSC z/OS and parallel
sysplex SME Meral Temel are working on some sysplex recovery senarious. They
will showcase several sysplex failure senarious including accidental or
disruptive failing action that takes CF LPAR or CPC down hard, Couple dataset
configuration related issues. Senairous include how to implement and what
happens during each type of duplexing methods, duplexing structures for
supported duplexing methods: async duplexing, SM duplexing, user managed
duplexing, You will hear how some capabilities and parameters will rescue you
from a complex problematic situation. Come to this session to hear all these and
more.
