Linux on IBM Z has been a strong part of the z/VM and mainframe community for
more than 20 years. From its beginning as a skunk-works project to an integral
part of enterprise computing with open source, Linux has both contributed to the
evolution of capabilities of the IBM z/VM operating system and benefited from
the improvements to its own kernel as it has been tuned to exploit all of the
capabilities of the hardware and world class virtualization. This session will
include a panel of individuals who speaker will talk about some of the stories
from the beginnings. There will also be plenty of opportunity to interact with
some of the key contributors to the strong synergy of VM and Linux.
