You might not be currently pursuing a cloud strategy within your data center but know that it could be coming sooner rather than later.  At the same time you do not want to limit your ability to move to a cloud model for your data storage in the future.  Current goals might include reducing costs (CAPEX, OPEX), improve staff efficiency, reduce complexity, meet service level agreements (SLA’s), reduce data loss exposure, manage data growth, reduce overall management overhead and at the same time position for the cloud.  In other words you need dramatic results now.
