With the flattening of Moore's Law, processor speeds will not serve as a significant source of performance improvement in coming years. Database systems are looking to exploit large real memory to avoid I/O latency and CPU overhead. DB2 10 and future releases of DB2 will look to exploit large real memories and z/OS features such as large page sizes and flash memory. This session will cover the potential performance benefits of large real memories and how DB2 plans to exploit such opportunities. John Tobler IBM Corporation
