z/OS Connect provides the ability to front z/OS assets with a RESTful API. The first part of this session covers the support that MQ provides for z/OS Connect and how it can be used to provide a RESTful front end to existing queue based applications with no changes to the applications themselves.
Sometimes just exposing existing queue based applications with a RESTful API isn'™t enough and you want to enhance these services and what they offer, or maybe stich multiples together.
IBM Integration Bus v10 introduced the ability for you to expose a RESTful interface or call RESTful services in an easy to consume manner. Through the use of Swagger, REST APIs can be defined and consumed by IIB flows and enhanced JSON mapping allows for easy mapping between different services. The second half of this session will look at how you can use IBM Integration Bus to define and invoke REST services, including registering them with IBM API Connect, all adding value to your existing backend applications.-Martin R.
