Millennials are often known for being tech-savvy, open-minded, multitaskers, and sometimes even overconfident. However, millennials are not exactly known for their z or mainframe skills. So much so, more experienced mainframers often wonder if millennials would even want to become mainframers.
I am one such millennial, with no previous mainframe background, yet I chose to become a z/OS developer for IBM, and I am so glad I did!So what would make other millennials consider the mainframe path? What made me consider mainframes? Come and hear about my journey and the millennial characteristics that helped me decide to take the mainframe path. Armed with this knowledge, you can attract the right set of millennials to strengthen your mainframe team.-Luisa Martinez-IBM
