Today's current security focus is on the application layer, the thinking being a robust security program focuses on network and applications. However, in our experience, this has led to an imbalance in the focus of enterprise security, where more time is spent on applications leaving the operating system by the wayside. There is even a “practical handbook for selecting application security tools and vendors�.
If you’ve been keeping up with current trends attackers aren’t just focusing on the application layer but at the entire stack.
