This is the opening session for the zNextGen Project, open to all attendees. The project officers will take about 10 minutes to introduce the zNextGen community, describe our mission and welcome back returning members. This time will also be used to point out important zNextGen meeting points and activities throughout the week, as well as recommended technical sessions.
Keynote Abstract:
The problem of creating the next generation of Mainframers will not be solved by hiring new employees. It will however be solved by getting those new hires excited and passionate about the platform. But with the lack of mainframe coverage in the average college curriculum, it may seem impossible for anyone to get excited. However, I was able to do just that. Join me as I discuss what helped me go from a wide-eyed college graduate to a proud and enthusiastic Mainframer in a matter of 2 years.-Warren T.
